Transylvanian, Hungarian-Szekler and proud to be.
Born in the Sepsiszek, a tiny and proud land. I am now settled in small, rocky Malta after having travelled around Europe.
My paintings are windows open to the place that I carry with me wherever I go, that place inside that I wish my colours will be able to give you a glimpse of.
Painting gave me a chance to focus on myself. It opened up more creative juice and self-expression than I had experienced in a long time. Taming my internal critic, and the obstacles to my inner mind, gave me new skills to express my heartfelt emotions to others.
These paintings gave me the opportunity to go through into my inner soul and reflect on the science of ‘me’.
My hometown, the mystical forests in Transylvania, the land where I was born are my first inspiration for these works. I am influenced by the impressionists by their beautiful technique like the short, thick strokes of paint, the play of natural light, the reflection of colors from object to object.
When I took the time to evaluate what, how and why I do what I do, it refined my work and gave me a fresh, determined self-confidence that I had lacked before.
I hope you enjoy.
